Removing 'Unavailable' path from Library items without removing the path itself from the library

I’ve got a ‘Movie’ library where I recently needed to move some of the library files to a new location to optimize storage usage.

I copied the files to the new network share, leaving them in the existing one. I then followed the documentation, disabling trash collection, adding the new path to the library, and scanned it.

For the moved files, I now had 2 file paths/locations listed in ‘get info’ for the library items.

I then deleted the files from the original path. The original location in ‘get info’ then said ‘Unavailable’.

I then clicked empty trash on the library, but it did not remove the old paths for the items.

I’ve only ever completely moved the location of a library’s files before, so normally this would be resolved by deleting the old path from the library altogether, but in this case, I don’t want to do that, since I still have library items in the original share/directory.

It looks like by doing another library scan after the relocated files were deleted from the first library path, it removed the old entries and all looks fine.
