How to Delete Files - Plex Not Allowing Me To

Server Version#: whatever the latest is

Mistakenly added some duplicate files and ran a scan. Plex picked up the files and now I have two versions.

Plex knows these extras are unavailable.

Rescanned, Emptied Trash - all files still present. I’ve even removed the folders from the library but Plex is persistent in keeping these unavailable files.

Are you adding each movie, series, or Album individually by editing the library?
Don’t.

Edit the library,
go to the Add Folder tab
inspect each and every path listed there.
All must be

  • existent
  • accessible to Plex
  • not completely empty

during a library scan.
If all the above conditions are met, Emtpying Trash should remove “unavailable” items.

On the affected Files, use the Bottom Right Ellipsis ⋮ / Info, you will see both Entries and path. One will have Unavailable marked. Just delete that one and your good to go.
