Hello,
Is there a way to rename the CEC-name of RASPLEX/KODI? I have 4 (
) RPI’s connected to my TV.
If I switch to the input selector, I see:
- KODI
- HTPC
- RASPLEX 1
- RASPLEX 2
It is a little bit confusing for my family, so is there a way to have the rasplex/kodi announce themselves under another CEC-name?

Can be done in System Settings and Preferences->Services.
Regards
nope.
Changed
SYSTEM SETTINGS
-> SYSTEM -> Identification -> System Name -> RPI3
-> SERVICES -> can not enter name anywhere
And the system name is not displayed on the OSD of my TV (samsung)
other suggestions?

In Preferences->System->Services->Device name.

Hi @NedtheNerd
I think I’m missing something. Are we talking about the same?
Running rasplex devel-20160301002139 on RPI3
If I go to
MENU -> SYSTEM SETTINGS -> services
I only see Samba, SSH, Avahi, Cron, Driver, etc…
No option to enter name
If I go to
MENU -> PEFERENCES -> SYSTEM -> SERVICES -> Device Name = RPI3
but my TV doesn’t pick up this name, it keeps “Rasplex” as name.
Because I have 2 rasplex connected, this becomes:
Rasplex 1
Rasplex 2

To be clear:
Preferences->System->Services->Device name is the name seem by PMS and other Plex clients
System Settings->System->Identification->System name is the name seen by network discovery on your local network
However, I have just made changes to these on one of my systems and plugged it into a TV directly via HDMI and the name is still Rasplex.
Do you want to raise an issue on GitHub?

my first on GitHub. Was a little bit nervous about that
@NedtheNerd: still an issue…
