Ok so short story. Bought a Pi2 a couple of months ago to replace the original. Rasplex all installed and working away.
Decided to use the old one with the surround sound to create a wireless music player for the house however have run into a little issue.
Renamed the Pi2 connected to the TV as Upstairs and the old Pi as Surroundsound
all loads up correctly and shows on the network as being there under and Upstairs surroundsound
However when i try and remote to it both Pis Still show as Rasplex giving me some confusion when trying to send the music to where i want.
Any ideas or am i missing something obvious
Extra in the pi2 is running 0.6 and the old pi 0.7 as thought id try the update to see if that would make any difference.

Had thought that was all i had to do. Changed the name on network ok but not on the cast to sections of the phone or pc.
Have also tried deleting them off the server as they were both called rasplex on there as well. Deleted them and resigned in but both still show as rasplex.

Make sure you also changed the name in Preferences->System->Services->Device name. That’s the name that identifies the RPi to other clients.

and cant see anything to name it under Pref->services only have the options for samba,ssh,avahi,corn,LCD Driver,Bluetooth remotePi board and Hyerion
Changed it under Preferance-> System → Identification but thats the only place i can see where to change it.

There are two options in the slide out left menu, Preferences and System Settings, what you are describing are the System Settings options, use Preferences.
