Rename libraries only for administrator

Hello, it would be good to add an option so that the administrator can rename the libraries only for him, to avoid having too many duplicates

example :

User sees = Movies
Admin sees = Movies (David)

Would “David” be the administrator or the person you are sharing with? So you have multiple libraries named “Movies” on the same server?

Just have one movie library, and use restrictions, like create a label named “David” and all movies and shows having that label David can see

Ref: Restricting the Shares | Plex Support

Probably not reading or understanding the suggestion, but it sounds like you have multiple libraries named “Movies” and one of them is a movie library just for you (David).

If so, don’t use the default name for the library when you create it, and if the library is already created, you can edit the name of the library

I’m sure that your asking for something more complicated than this. but that’s the way I read it.

Hi, indeed I have several users, David being a simple user. Currently I have 5 users, and therefore 5 Movies and TV series libraries. So as an administrator, I find myself with too many libraries with the same name.

So I would like to be able to customize the library name on the admin side without the user seeing it. On the administrator side we could perosnalised in “Movie - (david)” and on the user side David would only see “Movies”

Example :

Can you explain the “therefore” a little bit more? I have multiple users and multiple libraries, but I’ve never had cause to create per-user libraries.

If you are making per-user libraries, can you name one “Movies for David” and show David how special he is?

I feel like I am missing something fundamental about why you have 5 movie libraries. I have like 20 users and only one movie library.

If you are the only one that can see that library then why not just call that one something else?

I see that you want a label just for your own control, but the proper way of doing it is to follow this steps (Plex pass necessary)

My 5 users have their own library and therefore their own movies. And each user has access to their own folder to add or delete their movies.

… and they use your Admin Account?

Whoa… not recommended.

If I do that, when one of my users adds his movie, he won’t be able to see it until I put the label …

It does not have access to the administrator account. Just a user FTP access to their folder to add or delete their movies

Yea, that’s… off the hook.

I have a dozen or so Friends and Family.
They get access to everything.
I don’t maintain a dozen duplicate libraries for them to play in.
They have their own Plex.tv accounts.
They track items the same way I do - with their own Watch Status, On Deck (currently compromised), Continue Watching (compromised), Subtitle and Language preferences, etc.

If something gets deleted - I delete it.

This is the basic operation of Plex.
I doubt very seriously if that changes - ever.

Did you know you that can include emojis into the library titles?
Might be a simple way to disambiguate.

I tried using emoji a ~ year ago.

They didn’t display correctly in every standalone player device. At least not on Roku.
