Renaming TV Episodes (olympics)

i’ve been trying to rename the TITLE in plex for the opening ceremony of the 2018 winter olympics from “episode 02-09” to “Opening Ceremony”.

Original:

Renamed:

659×483 25.3 KB

it keeps the name for a couple minutes, then it reverts back.
Looks great:

but as soon as i add another “episode” it renames everything back, even tho those fields were locked as you can see in the screens.

When i go back into “Opening Ceremony” this is what i see:

I have the same problem in a NFL Super bowls library that is “TV Shows”, i was able to change that one to a “Movies” library and now renames behave as expected. but i can’t change this “TV Shows” library because of the rest of the content.

Can you get info for one of the episodes and view the XML and post it here

sure thing, here is the XML for “Opening Ceremony” ,after i’ve renamed it a 3rd time, while experimenting, i’ll add a new episode and get it to lose the info in a sec and post that xml as well. i don’t know what to sanitize and what to not, so i’m guessing.

its interesting that it appears that “SUMMARY” stays fine.

i just noticed that the new episode i added, doesn’t have a title if that helps at all.

that’s prior to me making any changes at all.

Since there is no such show as the olympic you need to set it as personal media. It is currently unmatched. At the show level, hit “Match”, then in the search box click on “Auto Match”, then select “Personal Media”. Now PMS will not try to match and will not change your names.
