I have reordered the Plex sidebar menu and have created a list of Favorite live TV channels which I have sorted a specific way.
I use Plex on multiple devices.
Is there an easy way to apply these changes across multiple devices so they are all identical?
It appears to me that all the pinned sidebar items are unique per device. For some reason, Plex deigned not to save that information server-side, and send the order down to the users.
I suppose it makes some sense, as it’s possible to have multiple servers on your account. Your own server itself might not be online, and only a secondary server is up. So having these servers provide the menu order doesn’t make such sense.
From my perspective it’s even more simple… different devices have different use cases – e.g. I don’t want to play music from my living room TV… it’s sole purpose is to watch shows / movies and maybe some Plex online video sources; I might not want to run around with my home video library straight into everyone’s phase on my mobile (people sitting next to me when commuting don’t have to see the thumbs from a recent family vacation or kids playing).
TL;DR: different devices, different use cases… not all libraries apply to all of them and you might have different priorities (orders) on them, even if you’re pinning the same libraries.
