How can I replace the Album Artist “various artist” with what is in the “Artist” column all at once without having to do this manually by cut and paste?
Hold down the Shift key and click on the first track
then scroll down, hold down the Shift key and click on the last track
Now you can ‘edit’ all the tracks at once.
But of course the better solution would be to put proper meta tags into your files.
The relevant tag is the ‘Album Artist’
Thanks, that will help when I have a group of the same artists to change.
I decided to do the best thing and edit my 1000 mp3s in MP3Tag and that was much much faster.
I used convert function to add the artist to the album artist.

That’s a good solution for regular albums, but it fails for ‘sampler’ albums
and albums with guest musicians on some of the tracks.
In this case, the album will get fragmented.
The Album Artist meta tag must have the same content in all tracks of one album.
