Server Version#:1.40.2.8395
Player Version#: Various. It is happening on 3 TVs and on my chrome webbrowser.
I have logged into plex.tv and removed the old desktop plex server from the authorized devices. I did that about a month ago, but the old plex server still shows up on all of my devices. Any idea how to permanently remove the old server from the list? My girlfriend keeps clicking on the old server and tells me it isnt working. It isnt online and doesnt exist, so it is expected to not work. I would like it removed from plex completely.
Today I signed into a new install of the plex app on my phone and the first screen after logging in says “We noticed you have more than one server available to you. Please select your preferred server and we will create the initial homescreen for you”
This tells me that it is not that the clients have the list of servers cached or anything. It seems the old plex server is still attached to my plex account.
The NAS server is the only currently active one on my network. It is the one I would like to use. The DESKTOP-xxxxx one is the one which should be removed.
I opened an InPrivate browser window, and I still see plex is showing the DESKTOP-xxxxx one. Attached are 3 screenshots.
in my InPrivate browser, DESKTOP now does not show. Thank you for this.
However, on my phone (android) the plex app still shows it. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, and it is still showing DESKTOP.
I also installed the plex app on my desktop (windows). I’ve never had it installed before, and it is showing DESKTOP.
I have not reinstalled the app on my TVs yet. Should I?
I can just try again later (do you know how long it takes for the cache to expire?) or are you saying that I should turn off / uninstall all the plex apps before using plex again?
Have you ever told the server on your desktop to not start automatically, when you log into your machine?
Removing the server from your Plex account doesn’t do that.
Look for the Plex logo among the icons in the task tray, in the lower right corner of your desktop screen and right-click it.
