Would it be possible to create a visual/exportable report that shows for each library which files were scanned and added vs which ones were excluded due to duplication, unable to match or wrong file type? I’d love to be able to see that of 1000 mp3s, 950 were added to the library, 40 were image or text files (and list which ones) and that 10 were unable to load due to whatever error in the matching process. Same for movies, I have several that match thetvdb and imdb names but still wont’ show in my library. Manually reconciling is impossible at scale. Seems like an easy report to generate though.
Try WebTools
Yes, it still works.
Yes, however a Plex integrated and maintained functionality would be preferable, especially since WebTools shows all unmatched files. I would like an additional “Acknowledged” feature to accept unindexed files to be able to distinguish new unindexed files instead of going through the same 2000 entries over and over.
In addition, it would be nice to be able to filter by “merged only” or “can be split apart”.
funny this got new attention. I just watched the LOTR extended trilogy and it’s impossible to split them from the theatrical release. If you pause and go back to main menu, both versions show up even with a forced rename. There are so many user configs that are missing while Plex goes ham on movies and colalbs that I’ll never use, I’ve given up on edits and am just enjoying my library while the community side of plex builders gets ignored.
Still no photo shuffle speed controls, av1 or vlc codec pack support for webp and older mp4 videos, reporting on unmatched content, managing splitting content for various types, lots of seemingly easy and obvious fixes while we get a new icon and Galxy TV. Ho hum.
When an update has completed, or perhaps during the update, please make available information on the relevant video files that failed to be added for various reasons, either as a copyable list or a downloadable text file.
At a minimum I want to be able to see what folders or files I need to fix - thus an option to list the files, or just the parent folders, or a tree of the folders (and files), would be good.
In an ideal world I should be able to use that output to produce with minimum effort a spreadsheet table or batch file of what files and folders I need to fix, so I can then use minimal Excel programming, or copy and paste and brute editing, to solve it; thus a well formatted text or CSV file would be great. An option to omit the error descriptions to simplify this process would be good too.
Thus: minimum is a list of all the video files, with what went wrong; maximum is a simple set of options to help the user find issues and repair them.
A bonus would be, for each folder, a button to produce a .plexmatch file for that folder, but that’s a lot more UI.
NOTE: I debated asking for having a special way to access the files that could not be categorised, bypassing category and just going with a list or file folder structure, so that we could still view them without having to go on to the server and fix it, but I recognise that it would take a fair amount of UI, and people would have to be taught it, so it’s probably not going to happen.
