I just side-loaded PlexAmp on my “Fire TV 3”, added Mousetoggle for navigation, and was going through the visualisations and concluded:-
Amoeba = most colourful
Retrospect = Neatest
Spectrum = Most informative
Snowflake = Most psychedelic
Soundprint = Least distracting
Amnesiac, Galaxy, Vertigo + Waffles = not enough GPU (was in low setting), Others = not very exciting. Retrospect + Snowflake are the 2 winners IMO.
Looking at Soundprint, It occured to me that you should be able to mimic vinyl spinning, using the album cover with a circle cropped out of it and Artist Name in top half of circle + Track name in Bottom half for the label. The record needle would progress from outside to inner for duration of track.
After a bit my screen saver kicked in anyway, which made me think that a photo slideshow might be nice too, but would need to be full screen.
