I have not found anyone who offers this and to be honest I have no clue as to why. Many people would like to use a media server in a school or business but are unable due to FCC and other laws regulating the content. Currently I can not put a store bought movie on to my media server and stream it without breaking a few laws, but I can carry that same movie and put it into a DVD player at work and show it. With all that said, is there any way you would consider adding a check in check out feature to Plex? What it would consisit of is
if I have 5 copies of a movie, I can set that in Plex and Plex will only stream that movie to 5 devices. If that same movie is streaming to the 5 devices, then that movie is shown as checked out. Once one of the devices is done playing the movie Plex will show one stream available. Doing this will allow me to add store bought movies to my Plex server without breaking any laws and allow me to use it in a school or business envirorment.
Currently I can only put home made or non-copywrited movies on my server.
