[Req] Recently Added and UnWatched

Sorry if this already has been requested, but I can't find it. :)

 

I would like to have a dashboard option that lists Recently Added like it is know but only UnWatched episodes.

 

Now if I watch half or more of the episodes on the first page I have to scroll/change page to see what else is unwatched.

 

I'de like the watched episodes disappear from the recently added when they been played/Watched so it allways only lists unwatched items sorted on added date.

 

Please implament, it would make my lifa a little easier ;)

As it stands right now there isn’t a plan to implement exactly this, but I’ve mentioned it to the team for further discussion.

I’d suggest you create a smart playlist, it’s the closest you’ll get to simplifying this right now.

  1. In Plex Web, navigate to your TV section.
  2. Select the Episodes sub-section from the dropdown at top.
  3. Hit the hamburger menu (options), sort by Date Added.
  4. Add a filter, select Unwatched.
  5. Hit the Add to Playlist button and give your playlist a name.

Now whenever you start playing this playlist it will start at the last added unwatched episode.

On the home page, how can you have ‘Recently Added Television’ & ‘Recently Added Movies’ show only unwatched?

You can’t. They really need an update to the home page!

This thread’s topic is my number one complaint about Plex. It’s awesome except for this annoying “recently added” queue which is mandatory and completely unchangeable!

Please, Plex! Give us the ability to customize or do away with Recently Added! For me, the only thing I want to see when I open up my Plex client or web page is unwatched shows! I couldn’t care less about stuff I downloaded a few months ago, especially if I’ve already watched it and didn’t delete it because I want to keep it “in the archive”.

Now your suggestion above is sort of what I want Plex to do, but I want these smart playlists to be the default view, also I’d like to be able to customize how it appears. I made 3 of these for New TV, Old TV (archived shows), and Movies. I’d like to have 3 sections with a selection of the unwatched shows in each category, but instead when you go to playlists, you just see 3 thumbnails made up of a smorgasbord of random TV/movie posters.

Hello, Where are we with this request? It is really important to have that as default:
Whats the point in having the list of movies you have already seen… Please add asap, the unseen + recently added AND unseen + recent new movies.

I completely agree, it is quite annoying when after a movie is just watched, for example, it still sits on the recently added until it gets pushed off that list.

When in the holy hell is this issue going to be addressed? There is no reason to see anything that has been viewed under recently added. It is just clutter after to leave it there for no apparent reason. If for some unknown reason you think this is a feature, then for the love of all that is holy, make it an option for the user to get rid of things off recently added or a global option on the server, but keeping watched stuff on that convenience list all of a sudden makes that list extremely NOT convenient.
