So part of me can’t understand why this was removed in the first place. Those who still remember Plex Home Theatre (which in my view is miles ahead of Media Player in terms of UI, sans the new codec handling) had this in the perfect place - during video playback - go to the options and we had a perfectly working custom zoom slider (going 1.00x to 1.01x 1.02x 1.2x 1.3x etc). This was phenomenal for people with custom sized screens (i.e. 2.35 or 2.39 or even wider) as it allowed us to customize the output zoom to fill every single pixel.
The current iteration of do 16:9 or 4:3 or full zoom, etc are simply INADEQUATE. Plex in a way is serving the niche of video market, and these customers like me have slightly more complicated screens. A custom zoom is kind of an absolute no brainer, and I am honestly shocked that it would be omitted in what is supposedly “newer” software.
All I am asking is for a brilliant feature that was available for YEARS on Plex Home Theatre to make a come back on Plex Media Player. I’m sure the code is in there somewhere - someone please just comment it out on the next release.
