Request: Plexamp to integrate with more players

Plex is a walled garden, it is a private company, it doesn’t have to do what others are doing, but at the same time, it’s been beaten already that DLNA is an old protocol that doesn’t fit within the experience that Plex wants to give to its users. They have reasons, you’re just not listening.

Plexamp or DLNA App

Different as in “it’s a completely different experience”? Absolutely! DLNA clients are simply playing file by file as it’s being served to them. They should also only find content while being in the same network (DLNA does not support stuff like remote streaming). Makes me wonder if you’ve even been using Plexamp. From my understanding (please jump in @elan if I’m wrong…) Google Chromecast directs the RTP stream directly from the network source to the Chromecast endpoint and the controlling device merely acts as a controller of sorts. Therefore, the casting device is never actually inserted into the audio stream.
