Plexamp or DLNA App

Different as in “it’s a completely different experience”?
Absolutely!

DLNA clients are simply playing file by file as it’s being served to them.
They should also only find content while being in the same network (DLNA does not support stuff like remote streaming).

Makes me wonder if you’ve even been using Plexamp.
I would have at least suggested to use the native Plex app for iOS instead of going DLNA

Edit:
Maybe just a few examples why Plexamp is awesome…

  • fancy ultra-blur posters
  • tons of stations/“radios” to re-discover your library (such as Library Radio, Time Travel Radio, Random Album Radio, style/mood/decade based stations, artist/album based stations, customizable mixes
  • option to interact with the server (e.g. rate songs etc.)
  • browsing your library by all kinds of aspects (artists, albums, compilations, tracks, playlists, artist/album collections, genres, styles, moods, labels, folders…)
  • powerful filtering of your library
  • brilliant transitions between songs
