I would prefer the option to not share any metadata about my library with MyPlex and still retain the ability to do local and maybe remote sync. If I have connectivity to my plex server, nothing else should be required. There may be new features or options that cloud leverage the metadata, but that should be my option to enable the sharing of library data and get those features. There is no technical reason the data needs to leave my private network.
what metadata do you think/know is being shared besides a few posters being shown on the my.plexapp.com page. Which i guess there is not real useful reason for them to be there. though im pretty sure no one can see that but you. the way I have always understood it is that myPlex just tells a Device that a Server is over there and then lets them communicate without further interaction from myPlex. but honestly i havent even used my android for plex in a while so maybe i am missing something
by the way im not trying to be a jerk or anything but polls are useless. people will up vote your request using the green and red , plus/minus signs on the bottom right of your post. thats what the devs pay attention to anyway
privacy in what I watch or have in my library is what I'm concerned about.. If there is no reason for it, why collect the info. Seems that the des have something in mind and I want the option to opt out of any/all data collection. right now we don't really know what they collect and that too is a problem. Not everyone shares my views on privacy and that's fine. All I'm looking for is full disclosure and the option to controll what data is shared.
Fair enough. I was just trying to understand your concern
