Something that might be easy to add.
Run a speedtest from the server and either suggest a rate to set quality at or to auto change quality based on that test.
The remote quality set to 4mb is annoying as hell if i share my server with friends always have to call them and guide them through changing their quality to 1) get best picture possible and 2) reduce transcodes.

Seems like it should be really easy to implement too. Would LOVE if users could speed test remotely to my server, this would tell me if there is peering issues/etc to them.
There is a free, open-source speedtest now available. HTML5 based, and works brilliantly. Integration would be very quick and easy.
