Request: Sync Users

I currently have a TV setup in our theater room running Plex using a profile “Theater” and I also have a TV in the bedroom called “Bedroom” now the issue I’m having is that the “Bedroom” user can see all content where the “Theater” user only sees content upto MA15+ (cause the children use it). Now my headache is that if me and the wife watch an episode of a show upstairs we have to remember to mark it as watched downstairs. Please can we have a feature to sync the watch status across multiple users, shorely I’m not the only one with this setup.

Side Note: Another way to maybe implement this feature faster/easier would be to make a Trakt.tv add-on.

Could you not simply switch your “Bedroom” account when you are using the theatre room client, then log out when you’re done leaving only the “Theatre” account available for the kids? With Plex Home and PINs it’s not hard. Of course that’s if your client software supports Plex Home. You’ve not stated which client software you’re using here. Plex Web, Plex Home Theatre / Plex Media Player and many other device-specific “apps” support it.

There is a trakt.TV addon…

IMO the best answer here is to use the Cast feature and use your phone to start playback. The local user should stay put while casting for another.

Unless your Theater Room doesn’t support that :expressionless:
