Hi all, so really starting to get my library looking neat now and considering getting plex pass so I can have multiple users. How does this work with watched status, there are some stuff my parents haven’t watched but I have would theit account have their own watched and unmatched status. Also slightly more technical is there a way if 2 users ate watching something together it would be marked watched for both users and if its stopped halfway through would each user be able to watch the other half separately from their account?
Hope these questions make sense and thanks in advance

yes, every user has his/her own watched/unwatched.
If you are not sharing any Plex client device with your parents, you can try this even today, without a Plex Pass. Just make your parents an own free plex account. Then share 1 or several libraries with this plex account.

no, there is no way to say “user x and user y are present in front of the screen and oops, now user y has left for the bathroom”

I will say that it would be really nice if there was a way to track the viewings of multiple users. For example, my wife and I maintain separate accounts, but we watch things together on a third “family” account. I’d love for when we watch something there, it automatically marks it as watched in our own accounts. Also, if we both watch something separately, for it to be marked as watched in the “family” account. Just my thoughts.
I’m just setting up multiple users now after using Plex for 3 years, is there a way to migrate the watched content so all videos that are marked as watched on the main account show up as watched on the newly created managed users?

If you are on Windows, you can use https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/120292/moviefans-database-tool-for-plex/p1#top to copy the viewstats from your admin user to the newly created users.
This is a one-time operation and only uni-directional.
No continuous ‘syncing’ possible.
Hi.
Running a plex server on Windows 8.1.
I’ve shared several libraries with my parents and brothers, each with their own plex account.
For some reason every time one of them watches an episode that I haven’t, the server registers the episode as “Watched”.
Since I’m also using traktv it messes up my watched lists over other synced apps to and devices.
I’d appreciate it if someone can help me solve the problem or point me in the right direction.
Thanks

The reason is the trakt plugin. You must create a ‘filter’ in its preferences, so only your own playback events are scrobbled.
