Could you add an option so when filing your media you don't get rid of the word: "The" and "A" when it's at the beginning of a title or name? It's so frustrating to have to constantly go back in an re-edit the info to add that.

Do you mean for sorting or for display?

If for sorting then that would be counter to the standard way movies or TV shows get ordered. 

If for display then I don't see that on my system at all.

That is as an example "The Cold Room" gets placed between "Cold Lazarus" and "Collateral" while it is displayed as "The Cold Room." This is exactly what should be happening. Articles like "The,"  "A," "An" ect. should be ignored for sorting.

I know you asked for a "option" but I do not think the including of the articles for sorting should be allowed except as a manual insertion in the sorting title as there are 100s or 1000s or even more of things the Plex team should be working on. This should be so far on the back burner that it is actually residing in the freezer.

Well, whether it SHOULD be happening is very much a matter of opinion Just as those insisting that it articles should be included are also offering an opinion, those who say that they should be ignored are as well.

I personally much prefer having articles included. I don’t want “The Cold Room” between “Cold Lazarus” and “Collateral” because the name is actually “The Cold Room” and not just “Cold Room.” Yes, this means a whole lot of entries end up under “The.” No, I don’t mind that.

So it comes down to opinion. I liked that XBMC allows articles to be included or ignored–easily–in sorting, and it sure would be nice for Plex to have that feature as well. I realize that for many people it doesn’t bother them, but for those of us whom are bothered, it does interfere with our enjoyment of the system.
