Requesting Tool: Rename files, made in Plex

well I think rather he is to lazy to read. on the top front of fielbot side I found this. So the tool does renaming. He just needs to read the documentation or go trough faqs.

And in my eyes, he should search for the way by himself and not ask someone else to show it to him. But thats me.

Did you even read the topic?

Seems like you misunderstood the thread, and the purpose of the requested tool(previous word, was a little harsh)
Filebot is for people who rename their stuff before they put it in Plex.

I am looking for a tool that can, pull down information that i have already put inside Plex. And rename my files out from that.

mmmhh lazy is to harsch? I wonder if you are in a world of cotton. Did you even read the replies in your thread that such

a tool does not exist yet. So the question is, did you even read the replies you have. Because I did understand all very well.

Secondly I did reply to your thread and purpose, as you stated filebot cant rename files. Which is just not true.

And I think you can even use filebot after you put things into plex. Because when I delete a file on my nas or rename it,

it will be updated in Plex. Well, for me it was like this in the past. After that it is searching new on the databases and therefor

alters the data on Plex server.

But I will test it with my NAS as I too have still hundreds of files which need to be renamed. Will get back to you with the

results.

Read the example.

I have never said that filebot cannot rename files.

Filebot is a brilliant tool.

The thing is, when you have renamed tons of Data inside Plex. Why not have Plex or the requested tool, to rename your files out from what is filling Title and Year inside Plex? Sometimes the title can be custom.
Wich Filebot and Plex would never recongize because the  file name(title) is like the example in first post.

Out of curiosity: what would be the practical benefits of such a tool?

If your media are already listed in the libraries and matched properly at least in regard to Plex there is no real need to change any filename: Plex knows already where to find the files.

Beside this IMHO performing automatic file renaming can end up in a catastrophe: a tool like this has the potential to seriously mess up any media collection.

well other then using plex for the renaming i think a second reason is this to rename too...

not auto rename just an addition to what plex does already in its search for in the mismatch tittle search feature. add a change file to match title feature.

it simple there is already a feature that helps you see the proper title and changes poster to give the correct movie, tv-show. put as you know if you man handle your server( or reset your server/move it from one machine to another) it looses that tittle and you have to go back and change it again. so what makes what the OP is asking for. is to settle the difference in the server continuously loosing that title. by changing the file name accordingly and when the data base is renewed it will find the proper title the first time. hence saving you going back time and time again. thank you. if you have the correct tittle you may think.. but not really and therefore having another tool helps in this matter. again think you....

example

1 notice wrong poster in library and click on unmatched. then click on find mismatch. after finding mismatch

2 after finding mismatch satisfied. click on update file  to new matched title.  title year episode 1080p

having options in setting to control name of file.

noting nothing changes the file itself with exception to it name not extension

you have to click a update button in order for this to happen makes it not automatic.
