Well, the search button says “Search ALL sources”. I think the word “ALL” will mean it should search ALL the files and libraries.
The coupling with the “Include in dashboard” has made it searching NOT all files anymore, and so it is broken. And so it’s a bug.
Please revert this, or make it an optional choice somewhere in the settings menus.

Same issue. All the sudden it can’t find movies in different libraries unless I specify goto that library and search. This is bullshit, it isn’t a ‘feature’. who wants a search that doesnt SEARCH? Plex dev’s are getting out of touch with their users, perhaps to due their goal to monetize. Might as well remove the so-called search or rename it because that isn’t what it does and we can’t even get a decent response from Plex.
This appears to be resolved in Plex Server 1.19.2.2673.
Looks that way to me as well. I was a bit worried after reading the patch notes but I think they implemented the fix well. Server admins might want to look over their individual library advanced settings to make sure the visibility is set to their linking. As for me, I’m much happier with the functionality now.

Hi guys,
I’m on version 1.19.2.2737 and the global search still has an issue for me.
I have 4 libraries and when I search an actor’s name, I get 3 icons with his face showing that he has content in 3 libraries however, below that only results from the first 2 libraries are displayed.
Is this on purpose?
Why not display all movies / tv shows below the actor icons from all libraries?
