Hello. Long time plex user here. I sent an invite to a family member who accepted, then deleted their account by mistake. The account is ---------------------------. Can you please restore? Whenever they try to login, it says “Username has already been taken”. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sounds like it’s not deleted if it already exists…Did you try doing the password reset? Or try sending another invite.
Yes. The problem is we used the “login with google” option. So there’s no password to be entered, it authenticates with her gmail account. Whenever we hit “login with google”, it says the username has been taken. Not even trying to create an account, just login. Using the forgotten password option does nothing as no email is sent.
Can you login to the google account directly?
Yeah, I have access to the gmail account. Login works fine. I even removed the invite and resent, but the account can’t accept and states that “Username has already been taken”. I think she may have deleted the account by accident to start with a “clean slate”, not knowing that doing that would mess things up.
Try removing the account link via google: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
Then resend the invite.
Just tried that and the same thing happens. I get the popup from google to sign in, and then it says the same thing :(.
The account has been deleted. There is nothing you can do but either
- waiting for 30 days and the re-create the account
- waiting 1 or 2 days until it has been manually restored by Plex personnel. I have filed an appropriate request.
