I have a PMS that has failed and trying to restore to a new machine. The only item that I have is the db that is backed up.
How can I restore that db and what will I lose not having the registry keys and configuration data?
You will lose all shares and invites to share with others. Almost every preference you did set in plex server and its agents will also be lost. You have to re-create these.
You set up Plex regularly like a fresh install.
Make sure that all the media files are accessible by the same paths/drive letters as on the old server.
- Shut down Plex server
- restore the database file to the Plex data folder, overwriting the freshly created empty database
