I’ve upgraded my server from W10 to W11 replacing the boot drive. I have the existing drive for restoring data.
I followed the instructions on restoring plex to a new system however plex didn’t show any libraries. I’ve readded them manually, however how do I restore the data that shows watched movies/TV series?
That means either
- you made a mistake while restoring the data.
Verify that you copied all the data from the old Plex data folder to the proper location of the new Plex data folder. If you previously had moved the Plex data folder away from its default location, you need to use this same location again if you also imported the old registry data. - or the primary database file on the original machine was damaged. The latter can happen if the old machine was not cleanly shutdown (sudden power loss due to a PSU defect, or other part of the machine breaking down).
You would need to perform https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/ before starting PMS on the new machine.
