my idea is to have an option where a per-user remote quality setting could be made.
Imagine I regularly use remote connection to reach my library and i would also like to add other users. The point is that I always would like to have a priority, since if the other user eats up all my bandwidth, I can’t watch my own movies. However, I don’t really care if they can’t have enough bandwidth because of my connection (how mean of me…). So for example i would keep myself as original quality, and I’d put the other user on let’s say 4 Mbit/s or whatever, while both using remote connection.
So it would be awesome if you could set remote quality separately for all users.
This discussion has been going on for a long time and has already been requested by X different threads very often. Unfortunately, the programmers don’t seem to be really interested in it because it is sometimes demanded for more than 3 years.
I find it extremely unfortunate that you don’t want to install it. It would help a lot of server administrators with user support.
