Resume not working

Server Version#:1.15.5.994
Player Version#:OpenPHT 1.8

Hi, I appreciate that nothing seems to be happening with OpenPHT for a while. However, resume has stopped working with OpenPHT. I’ve tried a different Pi, and I also have it on a Windows PC and it works on neither. It simply goes back to the start of the film / TV program.

I’ve tried playing films on Kodi on a Pi, and resume works fine. When I then log onto a Pi or PC version of OpenPHT it shows “Resume from” and it will resume from the point, but pressing play seems to reset the resume from data to start of the content. Press stop and try to start again and resume has been wiped.

I know there are other players out there, and I don’t expect Plex to support their serverson something that isn’t being actively developed any more, but I really like the OpenPHT Black interface and the family is used to it. Is there anything that can be done?

Thanks

This forum thread describes the current state of things regarding this issue:
Plex Server 1.15.3.858 and above broke save resume on OPHT, Orca and Other Plex players

TL;DR
Plex is aware of the issue and is evaluating the implementation of code to work around the flawed behavior of the third-party clients in question.

Thanks for the information.

I seem to have found a work-around for this issue quite by accident. My Samsung client was working perfectly without issue. Yesterday, I was looking through the network settings and came across this:

Treat WAN IP As LAN Bandwidth

It was selected by default from the time I upgraded Plex. I saw no reason for this to be selected after reading the description and I un-selected it. Upon service restart, I began having the “No Resume” issue on all non-browser clients. I then went back in and selected this option once again and restarted the Plexmediaserver service. The issue went away on all devices.

I am running Plex Media Server on Ubuntu Version 1.15.4.993
