Hi there! I use two servers at home, a WD MyCloud EX running embedded PMS, and a Windows 10 server running PMS. My media files are all on the NAS drive, and I use both servers for different purposes, but they share the same media (PC when I need transcoding, NAS when I can use DirectPlay).
Anyway I am just starting using library sharing/remote access and I optimzed some media on my Windows 10 server for 4mbps 720p, and set it to use the original folder. The thing is, however, that when I user the NAS server, it does not recognize the already optimized version, and asks me if I want to optimize again. Not only that, from my NAS, it cannot even optimize it. So, is there any way that I can make on server see the already optimized version the other produced?

The PMS installed on the NAS should just see it as another version of the media.
It won’t recognize it as an optimized version, though.
Right, but it does not either, it does not show the “Play version…” option at all.

Silly question, but did you update the library in the PMS on the NAS?
Silly questions are the best ones
Well, I did not, and in fact now a couple of days later it shows the versions on the NAS server, so I would think that yes, updating the library on the NAS might have done it.
