Revisiting MY OWN TRAILERS!

I originally requested this in August 2014 I believe… I am revisiting to see if there has been a solution, update or even a third party app that will allow MY OWN LOCAL TRAILERS instead of downloaded versions. I have hundreds of cartoon shorts I would like to use INSTEAD of movie trailers…
Four years later there still isn’t an option (As Far as I Know) to accomplish this…

Keep it simple for now… Assign folder hierarchy for local trailers… Name them properly and have plex software play them randomly or even use TAGS in some form.

2024 clean-up: this can be configured in the Extras section of the server settings (therefore considering it as implemented):

  1. Open Settings > [Server Name] > Extras
  2. Disable…
    • Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies in theaters
    • Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies on Blu-ray
