Rewinding a video causes it to fast forward most of the time

While watching anime sometimes I’ll wish to rewind because it was so good or I wasn’t quite able to read the subtitles completely, and when I go to rewind it’ll most of the time cause it to fast forwards instead.

If I rewind by like 2 mins at once, sometimes it’ll be able to rewind 10-20 seconds back to where I was wanting to go. It’s quite annoying and I don’t understand why it’s happening, it didn’t happen on older plex versions. (though there was an issue where u couldn’t rewind or fast forward at all for awhile there…)

Only other post i’ve found about this is this which seems to be exactly what’s happening to me.

Anyone know what’s going on and if I can fix this? I assume i’m SOL and needs a new version for fix. it’s happening with almost every show and is starting to really get silly…

Hi,

I understand your frustration. It’s definitely still happening to me. Not everytime but there is still some cases. Either that or:

  • pausing and resuming freezes video
  • sometimes you’re just watching and playback jump forward several minutes or more

Anyway, a lot of small playback issues. I gave up trying to force Plex dev team to work on these on my timeframe and just waited and waited. In time (sometimes quite long) all of my bugs were (partly) resolved.
For this particular bug, it wasn’t mentionned in the post but a fixed was shipped, and it definitely improved things, for like 90% of my cases. But like I said…never perfect :wink:
