Fastforwarding once, then rewinding once or twice causes video to fastforward 5 minutes

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: 8.23.0.27681

I hadn’t problems the past (few month ago and earlier) and everything worked perfectly but suddenly after some updates (server / client) I noticed the problem and it gets more and more prominent.

Most of the time, when I fastforward once or twice (30 / 60 seconds) and then decide to rewind once or twice (10 / 20 seconds) the video fastforwards itself approx. 5 minutes. It doesn’t directly jump to a timecode 5 minutes in the future but actually fastforwards (as if you slide the time indicator to the right). The video is then stuck at that frame but audio is correctly rewind.

If I rewind again to be at the timecode I want to be the video fastforwards again. And again. And again. Stopping and restarting the playback is not a solution because it saved the incorrect “5 minutes in the future” timecode. The only solution is to constantly try and find a point to which rewinding works.

TL;DR: I want to skip maybe 10 or 20 seconds but it takes me more than 1 minute to get Plex playing back correctly again.

Since normally audio is Transcoded but video is Direct Play’ed I thought about transcoding both but the same problem occurs.

The server logs zip file (DEBUG enabled, Verbose DISABLED) is created shortly after the problem occured.

Same issue on NVIDIA Shield TV Pro. This has to be the most frustrating bug out of all the bugs on the Android app.

Having this same issue on Sony Android TV XE85

For testing purposes I enabled “Audio pass-through” which allows all audio to be "direct play"ed and the problem was completely gone.

As far as I understand nVIDIA Shield TV, if you enable “audio pass-through” in Plex, Plex doesn’t care about audio anymore and just direct plays everything. The nVIDIA Shield also has an “supported audio formats” setting and I assume that the ones you select as “available” are actually passed-through to your TV and the others are decoded by the nVIDIA Shield itself.
Why I think so? I could Direct Play (and hear) audio formats my TV definitely doesn’t support.
