Roku app crashing with casting

Previously one of the main ways I would use Plex was shuffling playlists via the Alexa skill.

“Alexa, shuffle playlist the office”

After recent updates this command causes the Plex roku app to crash back to the roku home screen

Previously I had been experiencing this crash if the app was sitting on the “up next” screen after watching multiple episodes and playback stopping. Trying to issue the voice command above would crash similarly but now its crashing everywhere.

Other Alexa commands do not result in this behavior. Admittedly using the shuffle playlist feature was always a workaround since native shuffling of TV shows was not supported but now this seems to be resulting in crashes.

Rolling server version back to 1.20.1.3252 doesn’t fix the issue so I suspect it’s related to the recent roku plex app update

The same voice command works fine using my Apple TV

Further testing shows that this issue happens when casting from other devices too

Shuffling playlists or shuffling TV shows using the iOS app casting to the Roku results in Roku app crash

I am seeing this crashing behavior as well, creating a total inability to cast to Plex for Roku. My Roku’s are older models 4200X circa 2013, so it’s possible the issue isn’t present on newer Rokus.

Also seeing the same issue. Cannot cast from any of the android apps on tablets or cell phones to the Roku Plex app without it crashing back to the Roku home screen. Roku is a 2018 (I think?) Roku Ultra (4660RW)
