Roku: Duplicate (greyed out) Devices in Live TV Guide

There are duplicate DVR devices showing up in the Guide on my Roku app. It doesn’t happen with the Windows App, WebApp or AppleTV clients, just the Roku (I don’t have Android devices to try it on).

Any idea how to get rid of them?

  • I’ve tried deleting the Roku from the list of Authorized Devices from the WebApp - no luck.
  • I’ve tried deleting and re-creating the DVR (that creates yet another duplicate device in the guide).

Uninstall client then install.

No luck with that.

Tried three different Rokus, all showing duplicates.

I didn’t think the Roku’s saved settings across devices.

Everytime you create the DVR is gets a new id which is why you now have multiples. You could try deleting your favorites. On Android I just clear mem/cache and re-login.

Under authorized devices how many servers named Olaf do you have?

Tried removing favorites from the Web Client. Showed no favorites on the Roku, but still had the duplicate “Olaf” entries. Tried adding a favorite and removing it from Roku, no luck with that either.

There are only two entries for Olaf in authorized devices - Plex Media Server and Plex for Windows.

On the Windows client if you clear cache or use a Private browser and they are still there then I would look in the ‘Plex Media Server.log’ for database corruption messages.

In the browser what do you have for Live TV sources?

The duplicates only appear on the Roku devices. They don’t show on any other devices. (I just checked the Windows Client just to be sure, though. :))

I’ve turned on Debug logs just to get as much detail as possible and they really don’t show anything:

So it’s back to cached information on the Roku that you can’t clear.

Click the 3 dots when on Live TV section and then manage guide sources. You’re welcome.

Woohoo! Sixxnet for the win!

Thank you!
