I just recognize that sine some time, my Roku cannot “Direct Play” movies with *.srt subtitles anymore. Movies gots transcoded instead and gets "Direct Stream"ed. Could please help me - this is very bad.
I think all my settings are correct, but maybe I oversaw something - anyway I didn’t change anything.

I see the same problem. It appears with external srt subtitles but ONLY if you have a language code in the filename as per PLEX file naming guidelines.
So if the file is moviename.xx.srt (where xx is the language code) it will trigger a transcode. If you rename the file to moviename.srt it will direct play but it will show in plex as “unknown” language.
It is not a problem with the subtitle file but with the PLEX client. It is very annoying since I’m using FileBot to name the files as per PLEX naming standard and all is fine on all devices except ROKU.
Nobody seems to care about this, it was reported before. I’m now using Emby on ROKU, no problems there.
