Hello. Trying to watch a movie on Plex for Roku. When I turn on the subs, the movie transcodes, which causes buffering/stuttering/failure. When I turn the subs off, the movie direct plays with no problems. The subs are in .srt external files. I was under the impression that .srt will direct play on Plex. Precisely why I went to the trouble of finding .srts (instead of pgs/ass/whatever) for all my foreign films. This is frustrating, because I feel like I’ve played foreign films with srt a zillion times before without running into this problem. Maybe there was an update and one of the settings changed? Confused.
Note: There are three options under Burn Subtitles settings in Plex for Roku: Always, Automatic, and Only Image Formats. No matter which one of these I choose, if I have subs on, it transcodes.
