Roku player ends playback when skipping commercials or fast forwarding in last 10% of show

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Roku 7.13 Build 10

I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that when watching recorded TV, if I skip commercials or fast forward to the final ~10% of a show, the Roku Plex player will end the show prematurely, and go to the Plex main screen. Typically, this happens when I skip some commercials towards the end of a show, and the skipping gets me into that ending window. But it also happens if I fast forward manually and end up trying to watch the last few minutes of a show. When I start playing again, Plex will end the show and take me to the screen where that show lives, and the show gets marked as “watched”. The only way to see the final part of a recorded show is to avoid skipping commercials, credits, or fast forwarding during the final 10%. This happens in the last 3 minutes of a 30 minute recorded show, and was also happening in the last 9 or 10 minutes of a 90 minute show.

This behavior does not happen with my iPhone, or with the Desktop Plex app. It is unique to my Roku streaming stick +.

I have the Video played threshold set at 90%, and video play completion behavior set at “earliest between threshold percent and first credits marker” but I think this is only for the server marking a show as watched.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I’ve seen it. Happens on Apple TV, too.

This has been driving me crazy as well. Some shows I watch have a quirky little bit at the end of the credits that I like to catch. I have no trouble with the web interface, but with Roku it acts like I have hit hte end of the video if I try to fast forward to anywhere within the last 10% of the video. I understand marking it as “Watched” if I stop watching within the last 10%, but Plex should NOT kick me out of the video merely for fast forwarding to a point within the last 10%

I am using the Plex Roku app version 7.18 build 10
