When playing a video file, movie, or TV show which has an accompanying external .srt subtitle file,
enabling subtitles displays both regular (native) subtitles, and burned-in subtitles, simultaneously.
This occurs on both a Hisense Roku TV, and a TCL Roku TV.
This does not occur when using on-demand OpenSubtitles .srt subs.
Only when an external file is used, does it happen.
This doesn’t seem to happen using the Chromecast player, Android player, or AndroidTV player.
Just the Roku player, which as we all know has a long history of struggling with subtitles.
This matters because sometimes OpenSubtitles doesn’t have the same subs that I want to use, and I’m unable to use local ones without them being illegible due to them appearing twice on screen.
