Hi, I have a TCL s405 smart TV with Roku Ultra built in. I am trying to direct play a 4k video but Plex is still transcoding it to 1080p. The video I am trying to play follows the guide, h.265 HEVC video. Any ideas on how to make this work?

You missed an important caveat: you missed an important caveat:
“depending on what model Roku player you have.”
Your TV model may not be powerful enough to direct play HEVC content…
