Rotten Tomatoes rating for TV Shows

Please implement ratings from Rotten Tomatoes but for TV Shows. What is the reason why not? Years before there were not a lot ratings for TV Shows, but now there are really enough! All mainstream TV Shows have ratings, so why not implement it now? Even if they would be just 80% it would be nice to have. This Star rating from plex is always empty, cause nobody cares about that! Could not somebody make a plugin for the TV Show Agent to get ratings from rotten?

Edit: The Star ratings from TheTVDB are gone already 2-3 Years, so we really need a replacement.

Would be nice to see Rotten Tomatoes ratings for TV shows. The feature already exists for movies so why not TV too?

As you opted to create a new suggestion vs. adding your vote to the existing one, I’ve merged both threads.
Usually this results in the (new) duplicate suggestion to be closed… in this case the original suggestion had no votes, so we’ll just bring them together.

I’d just like to add to the conversation that I would love to see this implemented. Now that we have Smart Collections, more accurate ratings would be super helpful. I personally would really like to have some collections that sort by audience rating and another that sorts by critic rating.

IMO, the current ratings from TVDB and TMDB just aren’t good enough and it’s frustrating to have new TV Shows with not a lot of ratings sitting at “100%” and taking up the top spot in the collection.

I would assume this shouldn’t be too much work to implement, you’re already exposing the RT API for Movies so I don’t see a reason as to why we don’t have some continuity between both Movies and TV Shows.

Now that I think about it, I would also really love to see the Rotten Tomatoes Reviews for TV Shows also (but I know a few will disagree about that haha)

Similarly, I would like to see IMDB ratings for TV shows.

Again, option is in “Movies” - so why not “TV”?

It’s been over a year and no progress on this. Anyone know any way to get this done? Maybe some sort of plugin until it gets official support?

IMO, I find Rotten Tomatoes scores to hardly ever reflect my opinion of a movie or show. Especially the critics opinion.

The fact that movies have RT ratings is great, but how about the ratings for TV shows?
RT has the ratings on their website, so it would be great if Plex scrapes these ratings as well, so all of us Tv show addicts could benefit from the ratings as well.

Ideally, the ratings should show for Tv show, Season and Episodes.

is there a workaround to add rotten tomatoes as rating agent for tv shows? in the moment i use TMDB ratings for tv shows, which are not satisfying at all.

it seems plex dont offer this, although i can set RT for films? it bothers me somehow :slight_smile:

reason: i simply love RT ratings, TMDB is not reflecting my sense for ratings

How about in the PLEX App for Windows, web app, Apple TV App? I see it on the iPhone App.

The mobile apps have since been publicly released (incl. the extended rating).
There’s a preview for the new experience app on Apple TV and Roku. No ETA on the web app / desktop clients.
