So I just got a raspberry pi 2, and I'm a little new to the RPi ecosystem.
When I try to boot respell, I get the rainbow screen.
When googling the issue, the main reason is that it's the power supply.
However, when I tried to boot NOOBS, it boots just fine.
So the question is, is it really the power supply that needs to be changed since Rasplex probably needs more power than noobs?
Small rainbow on the top right is indicative of a power issue, if it sticks on the full screen rainbow it probably is related to an incorrect or faulty image?
So it starts off in full rainbow mode.
For the faulty image, I'm using the rasplex installer on OS X to install it on to my sd card.
Maybe I can try to "dd" the image directly on to my sd card?
Make sure you are flashing the image for the RPi2 and not the RPi1.
That could explain it.
On github, there are two versions, RPi2-RP and RPi2-Arm.
What's the difference between the two?
Edit:
Nevermind, one is for update, one is for install.
Edit 2:
That was indeed the problem.
I didn't have the proper version.
I guess the auto installer needs some work to allow the user to pick between rip 1 and rp 2
I had this exact same problem on my PI2 - and it was down to the power - 1 power cable would rainbow the entire screen but would boot in NOOBS, i tried 2 other cables and they worked perfectly - same Rasplex disk and everything
