My rasplex can only find my server when the server has internet access. Once I disconnect the internet it keeps working only until I restart my Pi. My ipad and iphone can both connect to the server regardless if it’s offline. I’m pretty sure my pi 1 didn’t have this issue. I’ve been trying it on a pi3 and pi2 but I only have the newest software release.
Solved with disabling Secure Connections in PMS.
