Same file in 2 libraries. Metadata, rating and play location not updating

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457
Player Version#: 4.22.2

My Library structure is as such:
English Movies. Folder: /volume1/lib/English
Arabic Movies. Folder: /volume1/lib/Arabic
French Movies. Folder: /volume1/lib/French
Library. Folders: (all of the above)

The idea is that Library would give me a holistic view of all my movies. But what ends up happening is that the none of the updates that happen in the language libraries gets updated in the main Library.

Keep in mind that those are individual libraries to Plex. Plex is not designed to share metadata updates of the same files across different libraries.

If you use those different libraries to limit/restrict content based on certain audio… there’s a filter to display only items with audio / subtitle tracks in a specific language. I’m using this all the time when my dad visits and we watch a movie as he doesn’t speak English.

Thanks Tom. It’s not for language specifically, I’m using it more for categorization. What I find weird, is that SOME movies do get the updates, and some don’t. I can’t seem to find a pattern.

There’s certain information that Plex stores independent of the actual libraries, such as view status.
