This is related to a VERY DESTRUCTIVE bug or unclear design feature that resulted in me having to bifurcate my library to prevent the Plex DVR from auto-deleting existing TV episodes I’ve carefully curated in my main library for the sheer audacity of having recorded more episodes of the same show.
PMS Version 1.12.0.4829 Ubuntu 64-bit.
I created a second library for DVR to record onto a local drive instead of my NAS.
Whenever the DVR records a show for which I have any existing episodes on my NAS, that show becomes COMPLETELY broken and not possible to watch from any library.
First off, whichever library got the show “first” is the only one that can show it, EVEN IF YOU MOVE ALL THE FILES RELATED TO THAT SHOW TO THE OTHER LIBRARY.
In the TV library (the one on the NAS that’s read-only), we have: https://imgur.com/82kMRla.
It shows three episodes across two seasons on that screen. Drill down into the show. https://imgur.com/qMogzEq
Uh, only one season? Where’s the other one? Well, the other season was recorded by the DVR into the DVR library.
So let’s check the DVR library and… it’s nowhere to be seen: https://imgur.com/e8zvBxK
But if we look at per folders view, (which you can’t do on iOS) it’s fine: https://imgur.com/Uth6m7E
Oh, and even if you delete the files for the “old” show in the TV library, it will remain in that library and missing all episodes because once a TV show belongs to a library, moving it to another library seems to be utterly impossible.
Please for the love of Dog, fix both of these. I hate being punished for using Plex DVR to augment my existing library.
