Google finally gave the green light to 4.11.2, and the feature I have been waiting for the longest arrived \o/ Sample Rate Matching. Up until now, my USB DAC would switch to whatever the rate was that was being played, but then stay there. So If the first song was FLAC 96/24 it would show HQ Audio, but if the next song was MP3 320, it would still show HQ audio. The reverse was true. Whatever the first song was that’s what the DAC reported.
So when this new update arrived I changed it straight to strict! I’ve now done some testing.
If I play a FLAC 44/16 then the DAC shows standard quality audio (blue lights), if the next song is 96/24, the DAC now changes to HQ audio (yellow lights). Hallelujah!
However If the third song is back to 44/16, the DAC continues to show HQ audio (yellow lights). Boo.
If I detach the DAC, reattach, and hit play, the lights correctly show standard audio (blue)
So close!
Is there anything I can do to assist debugging?
I have a Pixel 8 Pro and a THX Onyx Dongle DAC
