Samsung (2017) EPG Problem

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2041
Player Version#: 4.5.1
Tizen 3.0

Hi All

OK, I have a (strange) problem.

I have a Samsung UE40MU6100K (2017 model) TV and am running Plex. Yesterday I added a Silicondust HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO Network DVB-T/T2 TV Tuner in order to get live TV… really impressed - installed in about 2 minutes and immediately worked with Plex

However - here is where the problem starts… everything works fine, but there is no sign of the traditional EPG. The EPG data is loaded and visible - but all I can get is (under recommended) listings of what is on now in thumbnails and another row of thumbnails showing what is coming on. So, as example, I decide I want to watch BBC2 there is nowhere I can find to select BBC2 without knowing what is already showing and scrolling through hundreds of thumbnails to find it.

However when I log on to my plex server over the web using my PC, I get the traditional style EPG which is perfect. I have also noticed that there is a “Recommended”, “Guide”, “DVR Schedule” and “Browse” buttons. button at the top whereas on the TV I only get “Recommended”, “DVR Schedule” and “Browse” buttons.

I have attached a couple of photos to explain what I am talking about - but any pointers would be appreciated as I have gone through every setting I can find and as it stands its unusable IMO.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t believe that the Samsung app currently has the epg option enabled. I believe they said there are plans for it to come sometime but as per usual, Plex does not give out timelines.

Hi Paradise

Thanks for the reply, thats a real shame as I just paid for a Plex Pass and also the HDHomeRun tuner.

Lets hope that they do enable this otherwise its another waste of money :frowning:

Thanks

Agreed. I’m in much the same position. Just got hdhomerun Quatro. Seems like a tv app should be the front runner for something like the epg but… guess not. Just hoping the added time means a great implementation when it happens?

Agreed…

I have just installed Plex on an old Amazon Fire Stick I wasnt using and have plugged that in and thankfully it does have EPG, so at least I can use it - even though I think the Plex team should prioritise getting a working EPG on the TV App as live TV is useless without this!
