I recently purchased a 2017 Samsung QLED tv. Combine that with my newly built (and powerful) server you could say I was pretty excited to get Plex up and running on the 4K TV! Sadly, as the weight of my thumb gently, and with all the purpose it could muster, pressed the buttons to search / download Plex my emotions then went into shock. Like when you’re on vacation and find out that Jeopardy comes on at 7:30pm instead of 7pm. Plex was slow. I mean SLOW. It’s STILL slow. Slower than a geriatric slug on a salted snowed-in street.
It is very laggy, not smooth in any way, and it barely loads anything at all. It won’t load any files in 1080p or higher. It’s a sad reality as my older TV was so quick it would load files faster than my vaccination. Is anyone else dealing with this? I don’t know the exact model of my TV, but I can take a look when I get home tomorrow.
I should note that my new TV plays everything (including other streaming services) perfectly! So it has to be on the Plex side of things.
