Samsung Smart TV media player can't play AAC

Samsung Smart TV is having issues playing AAC audio tracks. All my media has AAC audio tracks as the default. If I play a file, switch from AAC to another audio track and back to AAC it will play without issue. For media that only has an AAC audio track I can’t play the media with audio.

This has happened over time with several versions of the Samsung Plex player, removing and re-installing the media player has usually resolved the issue. I “reinstalled” the app without change, “deleting” the app isn’t possible because it is now a forced Samsung install.
