I just added Season 7 Episode 1 of a show and it refuses to show it as Season 7. Instead it makes it an additional file on Season 1 Episode 1.
The first six seasons all show correctly.
My match is the normal “Plex TV Series”
It’s highly preferred to have each season of a show within their own season folder.
But if you insist on doing it this way, I think it may be because of that S07EP01 divider. According to the naming your TV Show article, all shows SHOULD be in notation sXXeXX. Full path ought to be
/TV Shows/ShowName/Season 02/ShowName – s02e17 – Optional_Info.ext
I think it will be ok without dashes, so if you want to leave the file name as-is do so, just remove that P in the file name. Remove the file from the folder, THEN rename the file, then move it back. If you leave it in there and rename it in place, Plex might simply see the file was renamed and not attempt to rematch it.

I noticed that and deleted the file, scanned again, then uploaded with the S07E01 format, and it made no difference when I scanned again.
I also put it in a Season_07 folder and it made no difference.
Putting it in season folders made no difference.
So moving into folder then removing the extra tag form in front of the name it decided to correctly detect it.
Even though it never mattered for the last few years.
