Im running Plex in a Docker on Ubuntu, after around 5 days of a server reboot the scanner seems to get stuck. There is no way to cancel the scan and Docker won’t let me reboot or shutdown the container either, I must perform a full reboot of the PC in order to resolve this issue. This has been happening for a few weeks now, maybe a couple of months. I’ve tried everything I can to fix it and run out of ideas.
It gets stuck on a random media title each time, its not isolated to one tv show or movie. I can not manually cancel the scan either.
Issue looks to be solved. My storage folders for media are remote mounted, I had made a change to the mount method using CIFS/SMB so I could utilize SMB multichannel.
I tried everything to fix the issue above and nothing worked, so I switched back to NFS and the issue has not occurred since.
It seems there was an underlying issue here with the SMB mount method.
I could probably play with some of the options in my fstab in order to make SMB work, however I am so happy that I no longer have to restart my whole server once every 4- 6 days, that I’m going to leave it as it is for now.
Hopefully this helps someone else that is facing a similar issue in the future.
